• Rev. Marc Lowrance, senior pastor


    Rev. Marc H. Lowrance is an ordained elder in the Central Texas Annual Conference, beginning his appointment as senior minister at St. John the Apostle in June of 2010. Pastor Marc is a graduate of TCU and Brite Divinity School of Fort Worth.  

    Marc is the father of two boys, Luke and Pete, with a step-son, Hunter. Marc has come to SJA after a ten year pastorate at St. Paul UMC of Hurst Texas, and is known as a relational leader who prioritizes dynamic preaching and faith development.

  • Theresa Wright, minister of administration


    Theresa is a transplant from Arizona but has found that Texas is definitely her home. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Phoenix and a master’s degree in Christian Service from Brite Divinity School. She recently got married in September 2015 to Matthew, and have 3 fur babies: 2 dogs and a cat. She and her husband have a 13 year old border collie named Reita, a 10 year old sheltie named Trixie, and a 7 year old gray cat named Sammy. Theresa is excited to be working at SJA utilizing both of her degrees.

  • John Moran, director of worship ministries


    John is the longest serving member of the SJA staff, and one of the most versatile. He participates in all worship services: for the 9:00 Traditional services, John plays piano and directs the choirs; for the 11:11 Celebration service, John leads the Praise Band. John came to SJA in 1998 as accompanist for the Children’s Choir, and he has held many positions since then. He was named Director of Music in 2002, and in 2006 he began leading the SJA Audio/Visual Team. John is a Fort Worth native. He received degrees in Piano Performance and Percussion Performance from Texas Christian University in 2001. He has worked as accompanist for the Dallas-Fort Worth Ballet/Texas Ballet Theater, private instructor in Southlake-Carroll ISD, and is a very active professional freelance musician in the DFW area. John and his wife, Katie, live in Arlington with their son, Jack, and golden retriever, Daisy.

  • Linda Formagus, congregational care coordinator


    Linda Formagus joined the SJA staff in January 2011. She has worked as a lay leader in missions, children, youth and hospitality over the last 40 years. Linda served as a church preschool secretary for seven years and retired from the Arlington Independent School District in 1998 as the principal’s secretary of a Junior High School. She has been married to Vincent Formagus for 50 years, has three grown daughters, two granddaughters and one grandson.

  • Joshua Warthen, minister to youth & families


    Joshua is a graduate from Howard Payne University and though he does not possess nun-chuck skills, bow-hunting skills or computer hacking skills, he does hold a degree in theology and bible. Teaching teenagers stuff like "it is in the Bible to not wrestle your neighbor" is what Joshua lives for. He and his wife, Kristin, have two daughters, Catherine and Mikayla. Joshua has served at several churches with the most recent being Saginaw UMC. Joshua looks forward to partnering with parents to provide a positive spiritual influence that inspires students to be involved in the culture changing power of Christ.

  • Hannah Smith, director of christian education


    A native of San Antonio, Hannah holds a Bachelors degree in Theological Studies from Southwestern Assemblies of God University and is currently finishing her Masters degree at Baylor University’s Truett Seminary. Like any good millennial, Hannah spends much of her free time hanging out in coffee shops, listening to podcasts, and reading theology. Hannah is also passionate about sustainable living as a Christian Ethic, and she periodically volunteers her time to sea turtle conservation on the Gulf Coast and to maintaining a vegetable garden. She is so excited to help build a strong community of both discipleship and knowledge of scripture with the kids and parents of SJAUMC!
